Conference: Acadian communities, past and present

Sociologist Mathieu Wade will offer an overview of the history of certain Acadian communities. He will discuss colonization, relations between ethnic and linguistic groups, the role of the church and national institutions, and transformations in the notion of community. The lecture is based on his recent book, De Sikniktuk à Kent : histoire de communautés au Nouveau-Brunswick, in which he proposes a regional reading of Acadian history.
