Pickleball Rules at the Arena:
- Participation: Open to everyone, regardless of age or skill level. No registration required, just come and play!
- Equipment: You can bring your own paddle and pickleball, but limited equipment will be available. Appropriate sports shoes are recommended to avoid injuries.
- Game Duration: Practice sharing and helping by ensuring you vacate the courts after the time set by the Town of Shediac employee to ensure everyone has an equal chance to participate.
- Team Formation: Teams are formed informally on-site. If you come alone, you will be integrated into a team or play singles.
- Basic Rules:
- Serve: The serve must be made below the waist and diagonally across the court.
- Score: Matches are usually played to 11 points, with a 2-point lead required to win.
- Officiating: No official referees. Players respect and enforce the rules themselves.
- Safety: Play carefully and safely. In case of injury, inform other players immediately.
- Behavior: Respect other players. Unsportsmanlike conduct, insults, and violent gestures will not be tolerated.
- Cleanliness: Keep the arena clean. Pick up your trash and respect the facilities.
- Community Spirit: The main goal is to have fun and enjoy the time together. Encourage others and play in a friendly spirit.
