Remembrance Day Ceremony

The Royal Canadian Legion in Shediac in collaboration with the Town of Shediac will hold the Remembrance Day ceremony at Pascal-Poirier Park.

What to expect during the ceremony?

  • Wearing a mask is encouraged.
  • The veterans parade will not take place.
  • Seven crowns and crosses only will be laid.
  • Disinfection stations will be installed on the site.
  • In the event that the Provincial Government imposes a change in the level of outdoor gatherings, the ceremony will be modified accordingly.

You are encouraged to purchase a wreath or cross in memory of your loved ones. All names will be announced in their memory, and the money raised through the sale of poppies will be used to help veterans and families in need.

The Main Street will be closed between Sackville and Victoria Streets. The closure will allow the public to participate in the ceremony. The public will be able to watch the ceremonies taking place on the platform and at the cenotaph site.

In case of bad weather, the ceremony will be at the Shediac Multiipurpose Centre. An announcement will be made at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10 on the Town of Shediac Facebook page. 

Due to COVID-19, the Shediac Legion will be reserved for Shediac Legion members only.
