This museum has a dual mission: pay tribute to this remarkable figure who was Senator Pascal Poirier (1852 -1933) and ensure the upkeep of this typical Acadian house. The house was the birthplace and childhood home of Pascal Poirier, prominent leader and Acadian author who became, in 1885, the first Acadian to be appointed to the Canadian Senate. Built around 1825, this house is likely the oldest house in Shediac.
